Spring cleaning playlist

With the weather being like it has in the past week here in Winnipeg, we've spent a lot of time inside cleaning    and purging! It feels so nice to get rid of stuff and make room for new things! We made a little playlist of some of our favorite songs to get you guys in the cleaning mood! Have a happy day!

Dear Creatures Fall 2012 Collection.

Yes, we know we have already posted about Dear Creatures several times, but they are one of our all-time favorite fashion labels! We love how much influence they take from past eras, especially the 1960's, to design their classic yet playful clothing line. We really appreciate all of the attention to detail, from the  beautiful color palettes to the pretty piping that frames the peter pan collars.

We know that it isn't even officially summer yet, but we are already longing for Dear Creatures' amazing fall collection. Get a load of these stunning pieces, which even come complete with a set of cat ears! A girl can't ask for much more than that!

This darling cap with little cat ears is probably one of the greatest things that we've ever seen! It is absolute perfection. This is definitely at the tops of our dream fashion wish lists!

That brown dress with the knee high socks is adorable! That is definitely a look that we will be trying.

Those collars! Those dresses! (Swoon.)

What's in our bags?

Recently, our friends over at Iconemesis were kind enough to let us each pick a new iPhone case from their shop to add to our spring wardrobes! (Yes, we count our iPhones as accessories because they are always by our sides!) There were so many cute cases to choose from that we had a hard time just choosing just one!

Our new phone cases arrived in the mail last week and we instantly fell in love! They look even better in person! 60's hair inspiration.

This week we have hair on our minds! Stef bravely chopped off a good foot of her locks last week and next week i'm going to chop mine as well! Summer is the perfect time for a change! Naturally we were drawn to the 60's for hair inspiration. The first half of the 60's were known for the flip, bouffants and beehives, and pixie cuts and later on it shifted to longer straight hair with classic middle parts! These are some of our favorite looks!

A little store update.

Hello friends! We just thought that we would check-in and give you a little update on how things have been going at our vintage boutique. It's hard to believe that it's already been six months since we first opened our doors! Seriously, it's been half a year already? Wow, time sure does fly when you're having fun! We were really lucky to have an unseasonably warm winter this year, which resulted in quite a bit more foot traffic than we had originally anticipated, and now that the snow has melted we have been busier than ever! 

We also recently received two very exciting press mentions that we wanted to share with you: First, a local newspaper called Uptown Magazine took a poll and we were voted #2 for 'Winnipeg's Best Vintage Shop' and we were also voted #2 for 'Best New Shop in Winnipeg'! Forever 21 beat us for best new shop, but really, being second to Forever 21 is still a huge compliment!

Secondly, we recently did an interview for a Swedish newspaper called Svenska Dagbladet which we were told is Sweden's version of the New York Times! What an honor! The interview was primarily about our mobile shop and will hit news stands next Saturday. We can't wait to get our hands on a copy!

Speaking of our mobile shop, we have our first event of the year booked! We will be participating in the Canada Day festival again this year and that takes place on June 30 & July 1st in Osborne Village in Winnipeg. So, if you live nearby feel free to come by and say hello!

Time for turquoise!

It is a very grey and gloomy day here in Winnipeg, so we figured that the only foolproof way to brighten it up was with a solid dose of one of our favorite colors: turquoise!

Elsie of A Beautiful Mess wearing OSL!

We were so delighted when we found out that our friend Elsie from A Beautiful Mess purchased this adorable pink, blue, and yellow floral 1960's dress from our Etsy shop! We were so close to not listing it because it was just so darn cute which made it nearly impossible to part with, but we are extremely glad that it went to such a fantastic home. Just look how amazing Elsie looks wearing it! This makes us so happy! As a shop owner, there is nothing more satisfying.
